The UK-based manufacturer EnviraBoard is bringing a carbon negative building board to the construction industry.
Utilising recycled paper sludge, otherwise destined for landfill or incineration, as a raw material, the EnviraBoard product offers both a solution to the waste disposal challenges in the paper recycling industry, and a new, sustainable, and totally circular alternative to traditional plasterboard products, which are environmentally challenging and require specialist recycling solutions.
EnviraBoard launched a SEED funding round on 4th July 2024, with a target of £2m, to support the expansion of its UK manufacturing business including the construction of a mini-plant.
Following a feasibility project with the University of Cambridge, EnviraBoard is progressing a supply chain agreement with Palm Paper and has already received expressions of interest from distributors in Scandinavia.
There is significant international growth potential for EnviraBoard through the establishment of production facilities at up to 1,000 paper recycling sites. The business is projecting profits of up to £1m-£2m per site per year, and anticipates an exit opportunity by year four.
