In the areas of Ghana where we’re working.

In the areas of Ghana where we’re working, the growing season is currently limited to around two to three months. With the right irrigation and agricultural technology, we’re aiming to make productive use of the land throughout the year, potentially allowing up to four harvests.

But growing crops more frequently means taking more nutrients out of the soil. And unless you put those nutrients back, you soon have a problem.

So how do we tackle that?
One of the products we’ll be using is a biodigester from Brazilian company Eko Biogas https://ekobiogas.com.br/produtos/

It’s a rather clever piece of equipment. Animal manure and suitable organic waste go in, biogas comes out, and the remaining material can be used as biofertiliser to help nourish the next crop.
So the waste from one part of the farming operation becomes a useful resource for another.

Solar irrigation to get water to the crops. Biodigesters to help provide energy and fertiliser. And a local agricultural team who understand the land and how to farm it.

None of these technologies is particularly complicated on its own. It’s how we bring them together that matters.

And alongside the agricultural business, we’re working towards generating ITMOs through eligible emissions reductions under Article 6.2.

We’re holding an investor call this Thursday, 15 October, at 12:30pm BST, to explain how Global ITMO plans to bring this together and the opportunity to invest.
