This report helps to answer the question “should my next car be electric?”. This is not a straightforward question. Nor is there a single, simple answer for all. Firstly, there are several types of electric vehicle (EV). For instance, there are fully electric EVs, which are fuelled solely with electricity. And there are hybrid EVs, which use both an electric motor as well as an internal combustion engine. Cost <\/strong>– EVs are generally more expensive to buy, than conventional equivalents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Range and recharging<\/strong> – Fully electric EVs have a limited range before you must be plug them in to recharge. This process takes a lot longer than refuelling a conventional car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Environmental impact<\/strong> – A key advantage of fully EVs is their complete lack of tailpipe emissions. As a result they eliminate a significant health risk near roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
